Schoolwide Norms and Policies – Student Contract

Follow these expectations to support a 100% EPIC experience.

• Be where you are expected to be and have what you need for success.
• The first 10 minutes of class are used to engage students; the last 5 minutes wrap up the class and clarify homework assignments. Students should not be in the hallways and passes will not be given during these times.
• Carry a hall pass when hall passes are allowed.
• The gymnasium is not a pathway to other parts of the building.
• Be Respectful, Restorative and Reflective. You have a right to disagree, but here at EPIC High School North, we disagree agreeably.
• Respect for one mic, use of accountable speech, circles, and mediation all are required of you as community members and your active participation is vital to how we operate.
• Represent the EPIC North Brand (No hoodies/ski masks, sunglasses, hats, air pods, headphones, etc). Professional attire only. No drug advertising, profanity, degrading/biased language, tops or bottoms revealing body areas.
• Student cell phones should not be used in the classroom unless it is for academic purposes.
• See your CORE Leader, counselor or main office staff should you have any issues or concerns.
• CORE is a space where students and staff build community. Students gather once a week for specially designed activities by grade or in collaboration with other grades. All sixteen COREs meet Tuesday-Friday period 8. Attendance is required. Your CORE Leader is your first point of contact and your advocate.
• Your health and wellness matters to us. Use of drugs, vapes, alcohol or any substances not allowed in public buildings are strictly prohibited as are weapons and drug paraphernalia banned.
• No graffiti. No vandalism. Period.
• Tutoring is free and a built-in opportunity for all students to achieve greatness. It becomes mandatory if you are an off-track student or your grades fall to academic probation status.
• There is no open campus beyond campus limits. You may earn privileges for lunch off-campus if you manage your time, attendance, and grades wisely.
• Your attendance is REQUIRED every day, all day.

The above are the ways of EPIC High School North. Follow these norms and you will thrive. If you require clarification, ask an adult before you do something potentially against the rules to avoid a ladder of disciplinary action that prohibits you from a 100% EPIC experience.
